More gardening, less cooking.

Another beautiful day for gardening which is exactly what we did.

Yesterday evening we had a family chat online.  Thanks Kara for sharing the video by the Dr in NY working in a hospital treating the cases of Covid.
It was full of first hand info that did exactly what he wanted it to do - make us feel empowered.  (For my French friends, no a word was mentioned about the malaria drug).

Location within the Île-de-France regionIn France some numbers have come out about how many people from Paris slipped out just before lockdown.  It's bases on info from Orange one of the main telecom providers;  17% of the habitants of Grand Paris (which is an area like Greater Vancouver for example) left that area between the 13-20 of march This info was collected to allow epidemiologists to better understand the speed and propagation of the virus. This percentage represents about 50,000 people.
It's also a way to see how well confinement is being accepted.  Some people are probably going to get bent out of shape over this

We chatted with our neighbours Steve and Alejandra several time today across the fence.  Next nice day we're going to have an apperif with them in their yard and us in our.  We'll chat through the fence.   They have two girls now 13 and 10 I think.  I asked Alejandra if they were there cause I haven't heard a peep.  Normally they are out in the yard, singing, screaming, arguing etc, like sisters do at that age. (They also live in the city during the week in an apartment, however they are here full time during our confinement.) Alejandra said yes, they've been out, but they find the children across the street too noisy.

I just read that DIY stores and gardening stores are allowed to stay open.  They are considered among the indespensible commerces at this time.  I can see DIY, but gardening stores?  Ok, maybe.

We're still waiting for our dairy products order that we placed several days ago.  They didn't give a delivery time, so we can't complain, however it is starting to get long.  We are now out of butter.  That means no pancakes, no waffles, no cookies, no cakes, etc.  Yes, they all can be made without, but it's not the same.

EM has been tackling the garage.  It's a huge job.  He thinks he'll need to rent a truck once things are back to normal to haul away all the stuff to throw out.   What will we do with all that space??? (Not a photo of here)
