Another sunny day
This morning started with a photo I could not take:
EM in slippers, a teeshirt, underwear and a tooth brush hanging out of his mouth at his standing desk trying to connect to his office.
Shortly after he was searching for glasses, wallet, and authorization because he's going out for groceries for us. These are stressful times because we don't know what's coming next. On top of that he's running his team at a distance. Something new for all of them.
I started doing some laundry after he'd gone out the door and found his authorization on the floor in the laundry room. Oh dear...
I ran to the door to try and catch him and he was on his way in to try and find it. I hope the shopping is less stressful.
Ok, pop quizz. Who's touching their mouth while reading this??? Ha - got you. Me too. It's a terrible habit.
Shopping done, no big deal. No people either on the streets in Evreux.
When he got home he shed his clothes outside and threw them directly in the wash.
He'd done his shopping in latex gloves. We then washed all the food that would not be cooked. And he washed his credit card and the store card.
I spent the afternoon gardening.
EM has his guitar course tonight by Skype, as usual. I forgot and ran in with my teeshirt and dark green old lady underpants. I guess his teacher saw. Yikes!
Beaches on the Mediterranean and the Atlantic and in the manche are closed. On a small island called Belle Ilse, the residedents are complaining because in 48 hours 2000 people arrived. So many that some residents couldn't get their car on the ferry home. None of these people escaping have really thought this through. The facilites on this little island are not up to handling this number of people. If they get sick, the services will quickly be overloaded. Plus they'll be buying all the food and supplies that have been brought over for a much lower number. On top of that, they are adding additional risk to all the locals. Here's some of the mesures the island has taken: On Wednesday they announced a reduction in the number of crossings to the island. In addition, local people have been banned from renting out properties, or even lending properties to outsiders.
It's a hard decision. EM's nephew, his wife and baby decided to stay in Paris when EM's brother invited them to Granville on the coast. In my opinion, that was the right decision to make.

Syd, I hear you're on a Gali committee about this crisis. Please let them know about all this and learn from it.
We just heard that people can still jog with an authorization, but no more than 2kms from their home and individually only. Guess, my 10k program will have to wait.
