Stray sock is back
Our delivery finally arrived today! Yahoo! We can try sourdough waffles tomorrow for breakfast.
My last batch of frozen sourdough pancakes was eaten this morning.
And now it's tomorrow and the waffles were made:
Sourdough starter opens doors to several breakfast ideas. All of them so yummy!! There was enough batter for breakfast plus 10 others to freeze.
I found this today. I'm sure these are Catherine's sentiments exactly. She's not big into cuddling. I think she's had enough of me.
Earlier today I found a sock on EM's stand up desk. I asked him what it was doing there he said: 'I needed it.' To which I asked: 'As a sock?' He responded: 'No.' We'll just have to guess, but there has been some fishing rod construction going on. Perhaps a sock was needed somewhere for that.
I was listening to the CBC from Vancouver yesterday and heard that one medical school in Saskatchewan was matching up care givers with students. The students will support the care givers with help getting groceries, walking dogs, watching kids, etc. I think this is a great idea.

In France the solution for care givers needing kids watched was to keep schools open for thier children and certain teachers would be designated to watch/teach them. Not sure how that is working out. I think the other idea is much better. It limits exposure and gets the students involved in the care giving world they want to join. Both countries have lanched learning from home by internet. Not sure how successful that is as we are not all computer literate and not all good at this type of teaching. It needs good preparation!
And not all homes have computers or internet.
How governements are handling this is very interesting. To me for the most part they are stepping up a bit too late. I thank the stars that I don't live in the US or any other country with with a leader who is off the wall, like Brazil for example.
In Canada it turns out the different parties are pretty well on the same path with this pandemic.
That's a wonderful thing. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/grenier-covid19-partisanship-1.5515275 Part of an opinion piece from the CBC:
"For the most part (and particularly when compared to our neighbours to the south) it seems that Canadians are not letting politics get much in the way of efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19. The fact that formerly implacable foes like Doug Ford and Justin Trudeau can put their differences aside is perhaps the clearest sign of all."
Emmanuel is admirative of Justin Trudeau and his daily updates. If you're Canadian, you may think it's too much or hoaky. In comparison, we've had one from the president of France to announce confinement and once a week from the First Minister. There's lots of misinformation going on that should be addressed strongly and is not. Too bad - for us.
That being said, there is a site in France called Santé France that answers all the common questions.
