Find one thing to think differently about
One of my friends just lost her step mom to Covid. Yes, she was aged and in a home in Ontario. She was diagnosed on Thursday and died on Saturday evening. My friend's comment was: 'This virus is wicked.'
Meanwhile, governments are talking about reopening for economic reasons. Tough decision to make.
I listened to a podcast today and the guest suggested that we should all find one thing to change our minds about every day. Wow. Why? Because we often make uninformed decisions or opinions about things.
Well, maybe I have one thing for today. I was out running as as I was on my last few minutes I went near the house and saw someone going up our driveway. When I left to go running EM was out getting groceries but he would have been home shortly. I didn't lock the door. I just left Tiley on the front door mat. I didn't really think about the person as I thought is might be our neighbour. When I turned around to come home that same person had come out of our driveway and was heading towards me. A man with very sun worn skin, longish brown hair, tall with a winter coat, I would almost say sheep skin or a fake one. He'd be in his 30s or 40s maybe, hard to tell. As he passed me he said: 'FBI' and something else I didn't hear. I started running to the house thinking what if EM wasn't home and this person had been in the house?? Did he take stuff? He seems to have a bag he was hiding under his coat. Should I call the police?
I got home and EM stuck his head out the window upstairs. I asked him if he'd seen the strange man and he had. In fact, he'd spoken to him. The man asked for food and EM made him a bag with water, cheese, sausage and bread. EM invited him to sit at the picnic table. He spoke to him for a bit to try and understand where he came from. He had a German accent apparently and spoke English very well. EM felt he probably drank a lot. The man didn't explain much about himself. Who knows his story. Maybe he's mentally ill. It's so easy to get lost if you loose your balance.
